Key Responsibilities
• Execute the Automation Deck plot safely, prioritizing the well-being of the performers and crew.
• Execute the Special Effects Deck plot safely, prioritizing the well-being of performers and crew.
• Report any issues with the automation and special effects equipment to the Special Effects Technician and Head of Department.
• Conduct routine maintenance on all automation and special effects equipment as required.
• Assist the Automation department in operating automation equipment as required by the Head of Department.
• Work collaboratively with the Head of Department, Production Manager, Company Manager, Stage Manager, and resident creative team
to meet the production’s automation and special effects needs during both rehearsals and performances.
Essential Attributes
• Prior experience with automation.
• Experience working on a West End or touring production.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of theatre rigging and set construction.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability.
Desirable Attributes
• Experience working on a large-scale West End show.
• Knowledge of pyrotechnics.
• Familiarity with Twins FX.
• Relevant industry qualifications.
