We are seeking to recruit a Draughting and Design Studio Assistant on a 2-year training contract to join our in-house team. Working in the Production Department at the Royal Ballet and Opera, you will see our world-class opera and ballet productions take shape. Supporting the Draughting and Design Studio team, Creative teams and Production Managers, your responsibilities will include the production of technical drawings using AutoCAD and model making. You will act as the first point of contact for the draughting studio, liaising with designers, other departments, and external contacts. Efficiently organising and maintaining systems and supplies you will ensure that the draughting studio runs smoothly.
Our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a collaborative approach, actively contributing to working in a small but busy team. They will also be to demonstrate the following:
- Experience of producing technical drawings in AutoCAD
- Experience of theatrical model making
- Some experience of office administration
- Strong communication skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of internal and external contacts including designers and contractors
- The ability to plan and organise a busy and varied workload, ensuring that project deadlines are met whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
A theatre/theatre design background would be an advantage and highly regarded.
