Summary
The Finance & Resources Director is Deputy CEO and is part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), working closely with the Executive to lead the organisation. The role has overall responsibility for the organisation’s resources. They are responsible for the strategic leadership of the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and administrative teams and functions. They are responsible for ensuring the resources of Wiltshire Creative are deployed effectively and efficiently to maximise Wiltshire Creative’s financial and administrative performance. They work with the board of trustees (including the Finance sub-committee), Executive and senior management team, providing accurate and timely information and interpretation to assist decision-making across the organisation.
They act as company secretary and deputise for the joint Executive as necessary.

About you
Essential
- Experience at a senior management level
- Qualified accountant or other equivalent level qualifications – e.g. ACA, ACCA or ACMA
- Experience of financial leadership, with good knowledge of charity SORP
- Excellent management and financial reporting experience, including preparing statutory accounts, insightful management accounts and other financial reports
- Working knowledge of HR policies and basic contractual legislation
- Experienced manager of people and of priorities
- Excellent IT skills with experience of accounting software e.g. Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of current relevant legislation and taxation issues
- Experience of leading strategic and business planning processes
- Highly developed communication, leadership, negotiation, prioritising and organisation skills
- Ability to develop, work in and contribute to an open, supportive and creative working environment
- Ability to support and advise non-financial managers and budget holders to successfully plan and manage their budgets
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings on occasion, if necessary
Desirable
- A knowledge of charity law and VAT partial exemption
- Experience of digital transformation/strategy development
- Experience of people strategy and IT at a senior level
- A knowledge of the cultural sector
- An understanding of the needs of a producing theatre and multi-artform organisation
- An understanding of the planning and reporting of capital projects
- Experience of development and implementation of organisational IT systems such as Spektrix, Artifax and Tevalis
- Experience of change management
- The ability to adapt to changing work processes and requirements
