Head of Production

Summary

The Head of Production will work to ensure that cohesive, efficient, cost effective and robust technical systems and staffing are in place at the venue. The contract holder will ensure a high standard of day-to-day technical operation, manage the production process and associated budgets, control costs, oversee technical schedules, be a key point of contact for external partners including visiting companies, designers, contractors, freelancers and casual staff. The successful candidate will be a skilled, motivated and strategic team leader, leading on relevant staff training and development. There will be the responsibility to manage the implementation and monitoring of procedures for the production programme in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations, both for theatre employees, partners and visiting companies.

£Shakespeare North’s full-time employees work 40 hours normally over 5 days. Due to the nature of this role, however, and to meet the demands of the building, the post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to work This is a permanent, full time role. The salary will be in the region of £36k – £40k per annum depending on experience.
