Fixed term contract for 22 months Up to £50,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience Based in Covent Garden, London Full time; 40 hours per week (including participation in the on-call rota)

The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. The Technology Services and Infrastructure team works to provide a service to all departments across the Royal Opera House Group, who depend on a variety of essential technology services every day. We are now looking for a Senior Applications Engineer to join the Technology Services and Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of applications, ensuring high availability, sustainability, and efficiency of our organisation. You will design, build, maintain and monitor both the operation and data of enterprise applications across the organisation. This is an exciting role for a candidate with demonstrable applications experience who is motivated by delivering high levels of data security and best practice, will take an active role in mentoring junior members of the team and will support the Enterprise Applications Manager to ensure that the ROH is continuously evolving our applications portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a team player who can evidence the following: -Experience of drafting and maintaining procedures and documentation – you can set standards for the definition, security, and integrity of objects, and ensure conformity to these standards. -Ability to lead the investigation and resolution of incidents, taking accountability for issues that occur and being proactive in searching for potential problems. -Planning of system and acceptance tests, coordinating both functional and non-functional specifications – you can provide authoritative advice and guidance on test planning. -A user focused approach, with the drive to achieve excellent user outcomes – you can collaborate with user researchers and can represent users internally. -Significant experience of designing, building, and testing data products that are complex or large-scale. -The ability to produce relevant data models across multiple subject areas and then select and implement the appropriate technologies to deliver resilient, scalable, and future-proofed data solutions.
