Job Specification
Sonia Friedman Productions (SFP) is a West End and Broadway production company responsible for some of the most successful theatre productions in London and New York.
Since 1990, SFP has developed, initiated and produced over 160 new productions and together they have won a staggering 48 Olivier Awards including a record-breaking 14 at the 2014 Awards. In 2017, SFP won 9 Olivier Awards for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the most awards ever received by a single production in Oliviers’ history. The company has also won 33 Tonys and 2 BAFTAs.
The Role:
We are looking for an exceptional individual with flawless administrative and organisational skills for the position of Assistant to the Executive Director, based at our extremely busy production office in Covent Garden. The Executive Director is responsible for all major contractual negotiations, including rights agreements, play commissions, senior creative team agreements and financial contracts with investors and co-producers, and has an overview of the business management of the company. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate discretion, diplomacy and a keen eye for detail.  S/he will be able to manage a large and diverse work-load with the ability to prioritise tasks and projects, protecting the Executive Director’s time and ensuring the smooth running of the diary and office.  A background in contracting and business affairs is essential and the candidate will probably already have at least two years’ experience of either production office or contracts work gained in a creative environment.
