A great theatre needs great people.  We can only thrive by having the right team on board in a fast-paced, constantly changing, creative workplace.

About Us
Presenting the best in musical theatre, ballet and opera, dance, drama, comedy and pantomime, we work successfully with some of the world’s biggest international producers.  With our resident partners Birmingham Royal Ballet and DanceXchange; with collaborators such as Welsh National Opera and Sadler’s Wells; and with names like Cameron Mackintosh, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Qdos Pantomimes, and the National Theatre dull moments don’t get a look in.

Average annual paid attendance of over half a million theatre-goers underlines our claim to be the UK’s busiest and most popular single theatre.  We are managed by a voluntary board of Trustees as an independent charity with no revenue subsidy from the public purse.  In our main auditorium or Patrick Studio, in our conference spaces or restaurant, and in schools and communities, we make sure that everyone is welcome, we settle for nothing but the best and we bring flair to everything we do.

About The Role
As Technician you will provide a full and professional technical support service ensuring we carry out our production activities with flair and settling for nothing but the best. You will assist the technical management in all technical related duties related to our productions on and off stage including get-ins, get-outs, show running, maintenance of stage equipment and general back stage housekeeping.

We will expect you to enhance our standing for operating a safe working environment, ensure high standards are maintained and deliver faultless customer service. Whether supporting training activities, liaising with visiting productions, carrying out maintenance or preparing events you will make your mark and build your reputation.

You must have experience of working in a similar technical role in a theatre/events/conference environment. Essential too, is knowledge of stage, counter weight flying, electrical and sound technical equipment to operator and rigging level. You will also have a good understanding of H&S legislation

Highly organised and a good communicator you are effective at multi-tasking and have an eye for detail. Reliable, your flexible approach will be complemented by good team working skills.

ETC EOS, 3 day rigging for the entertainment industry or NRC Level 2, IPAF and/or PASMA would be an advantage.
