Job Specification
We are recruiting a Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our talented Development team. 
The Development Department is the fundraising function of the National. Its aim is to raise essential funds for the theatre from individuals, corporations and charitable trusts and foundations to enable the theatre to carry out its mission and plan for the future. In the financial year 2018-19, the department raised approximately £14.9m gross, and there are ambitious plans for growth. 
The Development Department consists of thirty-two staff split across five teams: Corporate Development, Trusts and Foundations, Individual Giving, Major Gifts and Development Operations. 
The Trusts and Foundations team raises approximately £1.8m from trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations. The Trusts and Foundations Manager plays a key part in this team and the successful candidate will manage and grow a portfolio of Trust supporters that donate towards a range of innovative and impactful programmes and initiatives at the NT. The post-holder will typically raise gifts up to £75,000, with an ambition to work on larger applications in due course. 
We’re looking for candidates with a proven track record of securing philanthropic support, with experience of managing high-value relationships and working with a variety of stakeholders. You will have superb proposal and report writing skills, be highly organised and a great communicator, with an understanding of trends in charitable giving, particularly within the Trusts and Foundations sector.
