Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking a Head of Wardrobe to join our Theatre department. This is a temporary role covering maternity leave which will see the successful candidate joining the organisation as we reopen and rebuild. 
The job: 
Working closely with the Costume Supervisor and Designer, and leading the wardrobe department, the Head of Wardrobe realises the ultimate design of a production in a practical, sustainable manner. They manage the smooth handover from the design and initial construction of the costumes to the running wardrobe requirements for the productions. This role will lead the Wardrobe department through a unique season as the Globe reopens following our unprecedented closure and will need to both work within COVID-safe guidelines and contribute ideas for department-specific ways of working. 
This role is offered full-time but we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements. Please note that because of the nature of the role, some evening and weekend hours will be required and this role cannot be exclusively worked from home. 
The skills: 
The successful candidate will have a background in realising costume design to a high standard of tailoring, with a demonstrable knowledge of and experience working with period dress. They will be able to effectively communicate with a wide range of people, influence decision-making and be a supportive people manager with a collaborative and 
motivational style. A focus on health and safety will be crucial as we continue to develop Covid safe ways of working as the situation evolves. The right person for this role will be committed to the principles of equality, diversity and anti-racism and able to implement these within all areas of work.
