Job Specification
Stage One are partnering with Talawa Theatre Company to offer the opportunity of a 12-month paid placement for a Trainee Producer to work within Talawa's team. The placement is funded through Stage One's Bridge the Gap initiative that aims to widen the representation of commercial theatre producers across the UK. We are looking to find an aspiring producer from an under-represented background to support Talawa's mission of championing Black Excellence in theatre. The trainee producer will work with the Community Engagement Producer to deliver MAKE and nurture emerging artists with an African or Caribbean heritage. The role will be based at Talawa's office in Croydon (remote working until restrictions change). The role will be supported by Stage One through regular meetings and events to meet other producers and deepen their understanding of the industry.
This placement is aimed at people who would like to move into or take a step up in theatre producing and assisting on productions but have not felt they have access to do this before. Bridge the Gap aims to support people who have faced barriers to the industry and who have found it hard to make progress in their desire to work in theatre.
