Job Specification
We are looking for a Head of Access and Disability to join us. 
The National is seeking to significantly improve and expand the support offered to people with disabilities across all facets of our work. This will include audiences, actors and creative staff, and employees, and will extend across the full range of activities, from attracting and welcoming audiences with access needs, to supporting actors and staff with disabilities, to designing and managing targets and KPIs that help us to meet our diversity and inclusion goals, to ensuring the policies, approaches, on-line resource and physical infrastructure of the building all strive to meet best practice and comply with legislation. 
The successful candidate will have the following: 
— A proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity on disability issues with or in an ambitious and fast-moving organisation with similar disability and access considerations to the National Theatre. 
— In-depth knowledge of relevant disability legislation and good practice, including the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant guidance. 
— Experience in providing advice and support on access and disability issues relating to staff and/or customers and in developing policy and delivering training. 
— Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks relating to disability and access, and explain them to others. 
— Ability to work unsupervised, exercise leadership and influence change, building trusted relationships with senior management and a wide range of other stakeholders
