JOB TITLE: Creative Learning Producer
REPORTING TO: Theatre Director of Grand Opera House York and ATG Head of UK Creative Learning & Community Partnerships
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Freelance & Casual Staff
LOCATION: York and on Outreach
ATG was founded in 1992 in the UK – we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to ticketing platforms and producing shows.  We are passionate about great shows and our ambition is to help them find the largest possible audiences.
The Grand Opera House is a 1000 seat theatre in the heart of York, presenting high-profile comedy, music, theatre and dance from our beautiful venue near the river and many of York's tourist destinations. From Laurel & Hardy to Gary Barlow, the theatre has an incredible history since it’s opening in 1902 and we pride ourselves on the variety of our programming and our cultural offering in the heart of York.
Creative Learning is a dynamic department which delivers a high-quality programme of award-winning cultural education which is locally driven, with national significance!
The team in York are embarking on a new relaunch for the historic Grand Opera House, with creative learning and communities a key focus for the future of the venue.
The Creative Learning Producer will lead the Grand Opera House York in offering dynamic and stimulating initiatives across a range of different areas, delivering targeted projects, sitting in line with both ATG’s Group Creative Learning objectives, and the needs of the community, whilst building exciting and multi-layered partnership ventures.
The work of the Creative Learning Producer includes developing and embedding Creative Learning and Audience Development initiatives and furthering the commitment to nurturing the next generation of audiences and workforce.
In order to carry out this exciting and broad remit, we are seeking an experienced cultural educationalist. The successful candidate will harness their intrinsic understanding of the needs, challenges and opportunities of the local community including the education landscape and will deliver exemplar and specialist work, while applying their understanding of national education policy and key agenda.
You will have an entrepreneurial spirit and embed legacy and sustainability into the management of the programme, to enable growth and widen our impact long term across York. This includes exploring opportunities to form partnerships with grassroots organisations, local businesses, the local creative community, other arts organisations, trusts and foundations and more.
Creative Learning & Community Partnerships in York is part of a UK wide network of ATG venues with Creative Learning teams, working collaboratively alongside passionate colleagues in other areas to drive our nationwide impact.
At an exciting time in the journey of the department, we look forward to welcoming a team member who will give passion and flare to their work and join us as we look forward to an exciting year ahead following the realisation of a Creative Learning Programme and launch plans for Creative Learning in York.
We welcome and encourage applications from individuals from the widest possible range of backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from those currently underrepresented in our workforce.

Where we receive more applications than we are reasonably able to interview for any given role, we will retain applications for the next available interview opportunity wherever possible.
