JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a full-time, early career Deputy Production Manager to join our busy team for a fixed term of two years.

We are delighted to have received funding for this new training position, to help nurture and support emerging talent into creative backstage theatre roles.

This opportunity would suit someone interested in the work and mission of the Unicorn, who has a background in stage management, technical theatre or production management, and who would welcome the training and support this opportunity offers while also working as a key part of the Unicorn team.

The role combines practical, artistic and administrative elements with the opportunity to independently lead on the production management of Unicorn shows in year two of the programme.

The traineeship includes regular mentoring by industry professionals, and training personalised to you, alongside Health & Safety, carbon literacy, disability awareness and creative access training sessions, to further build on and consolidate your skills and experience.

The Deputy Production Manager will be part of all the artistic activity at the Unicorn, including in-house shows, co-productions, touring and digital projects as part of Unicorn Online. There’s also the opportunity to work across the organization, to gain understanding and insight into the operations, programming and project development of a dynamic producing venue. You will work closely with a second trainee position of Resident Design Assistant, which we are also recruiting.
