The Young Vic has always been more than a theatre – bigger than a building; it’s a set of values that uphold the conviction that theatre is an indispensable part of civic life. Whether on our stages at our home on The Cut, touring to schools and community centres across South London, premiering a play in the West End or on Broadway, streaming our work across the country and around the world – we are actively working to be a theatre for everyone.
About the Role
The purpose of the Taking Part Department is to provide schemes that develop a love of theatre, nurture creativity and promote closer links between the Young Vic and the local community. We produce innovative productions, programs, and workshops. We pride ourselves on being a leading force in the sector and prioritise excellence and kindness in both the processes and products of our work. To provide efficient administration of the Young Vic’s Taking Part department to enable the delivery of our three strands, and to provide administrative and diary management support to the Director of Taking Part.
We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. We are particularly keen to hear from Black and Global Majority people, and candidates who self-identify as disabled. All candidates who self-identify as disabled who demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria will be invited for interview. The Young Vic is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
