Job Specification
Venue Cymru is the regions busiest arts and events centre, comprising of a 1,500 seat theatre, 2,500 capacity arena and a full range of high quality conference and event spaces. We present a diverse arts programme, from West End Shows to our own Young Creatives performances, and host high profile conferences and events throughout the year. We are now recruiting for a competent General Technician to join our dedicated Technical team.
In supporting the multi-disciplined technical team the postholder will fulfil all aspects of the technical functions. It is essential that you will have knowledge of sound, A.V. Lighting and stage systems for Conference, Events and Theatre with this post having a sound bias.
Previous experience of working in a busy technical environment is essential.
This is a permanent full time post, which demands an enthusiastic person who is able to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and extensive shifts. The hours of work will be an average of 37 hours per week on an annualised hours basis arranged in accordance with the agreed system of working on a shift rota basis and may include evening and weekend working dependant on the programme requirement.
To ensure adequate bilingual provision within the section, the ability to communicate in English is essential and the ability to converse in Welsh would be desirable for this post.
