The New Wolsey Theatre is looking for a skilled Technical Manager to lead the department that’s the beating heart of this much-loved producing theatre. The Technical Manager will manage and coordinate the delivery of technical support for produced, presented and creative communities work.
We’re an organisation that has a national reputation for work in access and inclusion, for pioneering the actor musician form and we have a huge impact on the public and cultural life of Ipswich and beyond. Our 400-seater midscale auditorium is perfectly formed being both epic and intimate, as such it delivers the most impactful, exhilarating, and stimulating of shows – there’s not a bad seat in the house.
You will have a broad knowledge base and experience in all areas of technical theatre, ready to support the successful staging of our produced work, visiting company productions and community projects.
You are organised, motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and manage the production team.
You can see the big picture and also have an eye for detail.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours per week. Shift times vary, and will include some evenings and weekends.
