Job Specification
The Finance Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective day to day financial matters within Northern Stage.  Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Officer will provide support in the smooth running of the Finance Department, working alongside the Finance Manager and other Finance colleagues. 
 
The Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring Finance queries and enquires are handled quickly and efficiently and information relating to invoices and payment for both accounts payable and receivable are processed through the system with accuracy. Reconciliation of the company’s bank accounts to include all revenue streams paying meticulous detail in posting entries on a project accounting basis.  The Finance Officer ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day transactional entries for the department and effective input into financial systems across all areas of activity. 
• Income reconciliation and input to finance systems from various revenue streams 
• Dealing with supplier payment runs 
• Responsible for credit control 
• Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations 
• Management of the purchase order system 
• Processing invoices for goods and services received 
• Maintaining accurate and timely books and records 
• Assisting in the development of the policies and procedures manual 
• Responsible for petty cash 
• Dealing with both internal and external finance queries 
• Payroll Processing in line with the current legislation 
• Interaction with HMRC and 3rd Parties 
• Payroll Reconciliations and Reporting 
• Delivering expert customer service 
 
Application Details
12 months fixed term. 
Salary: £24,000 
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday, to include occasional evenings and weekends. 
Overtime: No overtime payments are available. Northern Stage operates a time off in lieu system. 
Holiday: 28 days per year including Bank Holidays; rising to 33 days after 5 year’s continuous service. 
Pension: Northern Stage operates a contributory pension scheme (up to 3% employer contributions) 
Probation: This post is subject to a three-month probationary period. 
Notice period: One month
