About the role 
 
As a Major Gifts Manager, you will support ENB’s vision and the Development Department’s strategy to grow philanthropic income, working closely with the Head of Major Giving to secure major gifts and expand the pipeline of high-net-worth individual donors in the UK and internationally. 
 
The postholder will have specific responsibility to expand ENB’s major donor base with emphasis on securing new five and six figure gifts and cultivating relationships with existing donors with the capacity to increase their support. This role will be integral in proposing creative approaches to help achieve and exceed income targets, deliver objectives to increase philanthropic income, whilst providing excellent, engaging stewardship to funders. 
 
Responsibilities 
 
1. Build relationships with philanthropists who can support the Company in a significant way and in the longer-term. 
2. Collaborate with the Development Director, Head of Major Giving, and all members of the Development team to develop the major giving strategy to identify and engage donors across the portfolio of supporters. 
3. Provide excellent donor care through effective stewardship. 
4. In managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, develop a bespoke strategy for each, create and deliver solicitation and stewardship plans that reflect these strategies. 
5. Write compelling funding proposals and accurate reports presented to the highest professional standards. 
 
Key Selection Criteria 
 
1. Track record of securing 5-figure donations and above from individual philanthropists and actively managing a portfolio of prospects in the performing arts, wider arts sector, or in UK Higher Education. 
2. Experience of working to targets and developing donor solicitation plans; Strong time management skills, ability to multitask against strict deadlines, with a focused and calm approach. 
3. Highly effective interpersonal skills with ability to influence others via negotiation and keeping a diplomatic approach. 
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to sensitively match communication styles to varying audiences. 
5. Ability to develop and manage strong working relationships with prospects, donors and senior internal stakeholders and volunteers 
5. Knowledge of fundraising, relationship and/or ticketing databases, Tessitura or similar.
