5. Hours: 40 hours per week. 6:30am-2:30pm or 3:30pm-11:30pm shifts, Monday to Friday (in a weekly rotation of early shifts and late shifts). We will consider candidates who are looking for a job share.
6. Salary: £13.02 per hour
7. Role Summary
Under the guidance of the Stage Door Manager, the purpose of this role is to deliver a first-class Stage Door operation including the highest level of customer service for staff, acting companies, contractors and visitors to The Old Vic alike.
8. Your Team
The Stage Door Keeper sits within the Theatre Operations team, which is responsible for all non-production related aspects of the Theatre - including front of house, bar and catering operations, facilities, health and safety, IT and sustainability. The team includes the Director of Operations and External Relationships, Director of Theatre Management and Customer Experience, Bar and Catering Operations Manager, Front of House Manager, Operations Administration Manager, Operations Administration Coordinator/Payroll Advisor, Operations Administration Assistant, Facilities Manager, Assistant Facilities Manager, Stage Door Manager, Stage Door Keepers, FOH Duty Managers, Bar Managers, Chef de Partie, FOH Supervisors, Bar Supervisors, Baristas, Ushers and Bar Staff. They will work closely with the Café and Bar teams, the FOH team, and the Development team.
9. Areas of responsibility
The Stage Door Keeper will be responsible for:
- Carrying out full unlocks/lock-ups of The Old Vic as required (and subject to shift pattern).
- Assisting with the set-up and day-to-day operation of the new Stage Door facility, following the recent building works.
- Maintaining an accurate record of who is in the building at all times, and conducting the emergency roll call in the event of an evacuation.
- Welcoming visitors to Stage Door and signing them in and out as appropriate.
- Answering all calls to the Stage Door, and transferring/redirecting as necessary.
- Receiving all deliveries to Stage Door, by post and courier.
- Sorting the mail for all departments on a daily basis.
- Overseeing the Fire Panel and The Old Vic’s emergency systems (those controlled from Stage Door).
- Making Front of House and Back of House tannoy announcements as required.
- Monitoring the CCTV and Door Access Control systems - and informing the Theatre Management team of any concerns.
- Carrying out daily administrative duties as directed by the Stage Door Manager.
- Promoting and complying with current legislation and The Old Vic policies on Diversity, Sustainability, and Health & Safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post so as to ensure the smooth running of The Old Vic.
