A Remote Working Toolkit has been launched to help organisations identify the potential for remote and mixed model working and provide practical tips for implementation.
Designed for theatre organisations and based on research with theatre sector workers, the toolkit was developed by Parents and Carers in Performing Arts (PiPA), following a commission from SOLT and UK Theatre in response to the needs of industry members.
The resources include information which outlines the business case for remote and mixed model working, an explanation of the different degrees of remote working, and guidance on addressing the common concerns employers have about implementing remote working.
PiPA have also provided practical tools for employers: a role analysis guide to help employers’ consider the suitability of different roles for remote or mixed model working, and a resource checklist to support the provision of appropriate equipment for remote working. The Toolkit also contains a sample remote working policy for organisations to adapt, along with explanatory guidance on each point.
Alongside the Toolkit, SOLT UK Theatre and PiPA will be hosting a free webinar on 30 September 2021, 10am-12pm, to offer theatre employers the chance to discover more about these resources. The webinar will feature case studies from the Royal Shakespeare Company, Mercury Theatre Colchester and Costume in Theatre, Entertainment and Arts, who have successfully implemented remote or mixed model working policies. As part of the session there will be the opportunity to dissect these new resources in more detail with the authors and ask any questions. Register for the webinar now using the booking link below.
