Level 3 First Aid at Work: Recognition and management of illness & injury in the workplace

10.00am to 6.00pm

This comprehensive 3 day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.

The course tutor has a background in emergency medicine and over ten years experience of training exclusively within the theatre community which means the training will be relevant to the unique environments in which you work.

On successful completion of course delegates will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF).

For those required to undertake the role of “First Aider” in the workplace and supporting employers to meet their requirements under the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations.
Qualification is open to those over 16 year.

LEARNING OUTCOMES – AT THE END OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL

Understand the role and responsibilities of the First Aider
Manage an unresponsive casualty
Manage a casualty who is not breathing
Recognise & assist a choking casualty
Manage a casualty with external bleeding
Manage a casualty who is in shock
Administer first aid to a casualty
- with minor injuries
- with sudden poisoning
- anaphylaxis
Recognise and provide first aid to a casualty with major illness
