Introduction to Trans Awareness

• Gain the confidence to approach situations involving a trans client, customer or colleague?
• Understand what your organisation might need to do to comply with Equalities law?

Then this course is for you!

The session is based around interactive exercises, encouraging participants to get involved in thinking through what trans means and ways to achieve equality and inclusivity in practice. It is for a maximum of 15 delegates.

At the end of this course you will have:

• An appreciation of how sex, gender and sexual orientation interact
• A basic grounding in the key laws relating to trans people
• Increased awareness of trans issues and ways to be trans inclusive
• Increased confidence in working with trans colleagues/clients
• Information about helpful resources

Tutor Jezza Donovan has had a career in education and training since 2002 and has been delivering trans awareness training for Gendered Intelligence since January 2018. They have trained in a wide variety of settings across the country including for many theatre, dance and arts organisations. They trained as an actor, producing work in London fringe theatres and alongside their work for GI they work as a writer, director and performer of theatre and comedy.
