In recognition of the importance of mental health across a company engaged on a production, we have arranged Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for Company Managers. 

This one-day course will focus upon the common issues surrounding mental health as well as being specifically tailored towards the theatrical environment.

SOLT and UK Theatre members may book for any of their Company Managers to attend this, or Company Managers can book directly. 

Please note, this course is ONLY for Company Managers working in both West End and Touring Theatre. If you are working in another role please see the Mental Health First Aid in the Performing Arts two-day course.

LEARNING OUTCOMES – AT THE END OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL 

  • Recognise the main signs and symptoms of common mental health issues
  • Guide a person towards appropriate professional help
  • Be mindful of your own wellbeing
  • Develop an understanding of how to create and maintain a healthier workforce
Additionally, to ensure the session is highly relevant to the Company Manager it will look at issues that can be raised within their pastoral role.

Maria Pattinson is qualified in Counselling Skills, Systemic Coaching and Facilitation Training. She became a MHFA Instructor and National Trainer as part of an on-going commitment to the importance of arts and culture, having previously worked in theatre as a producer and director for more than two decades.
