Tell us a little about yourself
Being an Owner Manager I have avoided having a proper job since 1995! I am an experienced and qualified Finance, Business and Management Professional, currently working within the Cultural, Charitable, Education and Private Sectors. I am actively involved in the governance of arts and charity establishments across the East Midlands and beyond. I write occasional articles on a range of financial and business matters for Arts Professional and am part of the Clore Leadership Programme as a trainer.
When liberated from the office I like to travel, meet new people and try my best to maintain a level of fitness.
Tell us a little about your course
The Strategic Business & Finance course is designed to build on and develop on your general awareness of finance. We will look at some key financial analysis tools, the use of financial information in decision making, costing, pricing of services and products, performance management and KPIs.
A general knowledge of accounts and finance is useful to get the maximum benefit from the courses. If your knowledge of finance is a bit rusty, don’t worry because all delegates will receive a free introductory guide to Financial Awareness.
Tell us why someone should come on the course (50 words max!)
This course has been designed to be participatory, practical and enjoyable (yes enjoyable) and is arts focused. Death by PowerPoint is avoided, and examples, illustrations and a case study are used. The learning environment is supportive and friendly and you don’t need to maths minded to benefit from the course.
What’s your favourite theatre show?
Rich Tea or Chocolate Digestive biscuit?
Tough question left until the end. In a classic accountant’s response, it depends. Rich tea for grazing, Chocolate for indulgence but I’d prefer HobNobs.
