UK Theatre Awards
For 30 years, the UK Theatre Awards have been the only nationwide awards to celebrate outstanding achievements in theatre across the UK.
This key annual event in UK Theatre’s calendar provides excellent opportunities to meet other members, network and celebrate the past year’s successes. Awards are given for work On Stage and Off Stage, including the coveted UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre Award and the Outstanding Contribution to British Theatre accolade, which is awarded by the UK Theatre Board.
The UK Theatre Awards 2024 will take place on Sunday 20 October.
On Stage Awards
The On Stage Awards are decided through a nominations and panel judging process. UK Theatre Organisation Members can champion their outstanding productions using the Productions’ Calendar throughout the year, as well as submit recommendations for their favourite productions from other members for consideration by the judging panel via a survey sent out at the end of the eligibility period.
The Eligibility Period for the UK Theatre Awards 2024 is 14 August 2023 – 28 August 2024; for more details, see the Information Pack.
Off Stage Awards
The Off Stage Awards are decided through an application and panel judging process. The Awards recognise areas of work which have been identified as crucial to the resilience of the industry.
UK Theatre Organisation Members can put their organisation forward for this year’s Off Stage Awards at any time before 28 August 2024. Submission forms are available on the links below:

- Excellence in Arts Education Award
- Excellence in Inclusivity Award
- Excellence in Sustainability Award (new category for 2024)
- Excellence in Touring Award
- Workforce Award

UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre
UK Theatre Organisation Member venues are invited to tell us why they are a welcoming theatre in three ways; place, people and programme. Take inspiration from previous winners here.
