English National Ballet is seeking an Artistic Scheduling Manager to join our team on a maternity cover contract until July 2027. You will work closely with the Artistic Director and the Artistic Manager to manage all matters relating to scheduling and casting. You will be responsible for documenting, delivering and distributing the weekly rehearsal schedule, and ensuring that these are coordinated and securely archived.

We’re looking for someone with experience in providing a regular, detailed scheduling service for a large cohort of people, and the ability to work effectively towards deadlines in a busy and pressured environment. If that sounds like you, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

This position is for a fixed-term contract, starting October 2026 until July 2027.

Your main responsibilities as Artistic Scheduling Manager will include:

  • Document, deliver and distribute the weekly rehearsal schedule also in consultation with the visiting choreographers/repetiteurs and Artistic Team.
  • Support the AM in scheduling casting deadlines and communicate these to the Artistic Team to ensure efficient and punctual delivery.
  • Maintain all scheduling and casting records, including any updates or amendments in the required digital format, and manage a regular, secure archiving process.
  • Coordinate appointments for Artists, the Artistic Team and the AD when required; appointments may be for Visas, or with other departments such as HR, costume and shoe fittings.
  • Collate and check items for payment including dancer overtime and pianist invoices.
  • Keep up to date daily with any dancer’s medical treatment or rehabilitation; notify the Artistic Team and Company Manager as required via email or verbally; liaise with the Artistic Team to track any expected dancer absences due to medical appointments.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all key stakeholders, including other departments, locations and visiting creatives.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Some experience of providing a detailed daily or weekly scheduling service or similar complex administrative service for a large cohort of people.
  • Ability to focus and work productively in a busy and pressured environment, able to work methodically to achieve deadlines.
  • Proven ability to get up to speed on priorities, workflows, lead times and dependencies for all scheduling activities.
  • Ability to absorb new information or changed priorities and provide accurate updates.
  • Ability and commitment to deliver a high standard of work, with strong proofreading, checking and error minimisation abilities.
  • Ability to manage positive working relationships, with a strong team and service ethic.
