We are looking for applicants with previous Company Stage Management experience. The role requires someone who has exceptional people skills and can work in a highly pressured environment. A very strong knowledge of Health and Safety procedures would be desirable due to the physicality of the show. Last minute cast changes are normal on this production, so applicants must be able to adapt quickly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• To supervise and lead the entire company;
• To liaise with the production manager, venue technical management and theatre management as required;
• To schedule the company’s weekly hours;
• To retain a working knowledge of the stage management show plots (not including the book) in order to cover in the event of unexpected absence;
• To ensure the safest possible working environment at all times, and that all Health and Safety procedure and practice is adhered to including filling in accident reports and attending regular Health and Safety meetings;
• To compile and distribute show reports;
• To put together and distribute the weekly schedule for the company;
• To complete the weekly payroll;
• To manage the petty cash float using the Pleo online system and working within the weekly petty cash budget;
• To liaise with Press & Marketing personnel with regards to interviews etc;
• To carry out ad-hoc hospitality duties for VIP guests;
• To schedule and supervise understudy rehearsals in liaison with the Associate Director;
• To be the primary point of contact for any personnel or pastoral issues in the company;
• Any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of a Company Stage Manager based on industry norms and practice.

Person Specification:
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail;
• A proactive and flexible attitude;
• Previous experience of UK Touring;
• Previous experience of leading a team;
• The ability to work well with actors and creative team;
• The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise;
• Confidence in leading sensitive conversations;
• Awareness of current health & safety legislation;
• Strong working knowledge of UK Theatre & SOLT Equity and BECTU Agreements.
