Building Services Engineer

Permanent, Full Time

to £35,000

Join the team behind one of the UK’s leading producing theatres. Chichester Festival Theatre is seeking a skilled Building Service Engineer with an electrical background to help maintain and support our award-winning venues, including the Festival Theatre, Minerva Theatre, The Nest and associated properties. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same, combining planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, building services, and live show support to ensure our theatres remain safe, welcoming and fully operational for audiences, performers and staff.

Working as part of a small, dedicated Facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, carrying out statutory checks, building maintenance, liaising with specialist contractors and supporting sustainability initiatives across our sites. We are looking for someone with recognised electrical engineering qualifications, strong problem-solving skills and a practical, multi-skilled approach. Experience of building services, plant maintenance, PPM programmes and building management systems will be highly valued.

This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and teamwork in a unique cultural environment. The role includes opportunities for training and development, and the chance to contribute to the future of a thriving theatre organisation committed to sustainability and innovation. If you take pride in maintaining safe, high-performing buildings, we’d love to hear from you.
