Fundraising and Development Coordinator

Nottingham Playhouse
£30, £500 p.a. (depending on experience) | Closing: 27 August 2026

Summary

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and relationship-focused Fundraising and Development Coordinator to support our fundraising, sponsorship and donor activity. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in arts fundraising while helping one of the UK’s leading producing theatres build relationships and generate income.

More Details

Nottingham Playhouse is one of the country’s leading producing theatres and was named Theatre of the Year 2025 at The Stage Awards. We create bold, thrilling theatre that is proudly made in Nottingham, alongside an extensive programme of participation and community activity.

As a registered charity, fundraising plays an important role in enabling us to reach as many people as possible, create new opportunities and deliver memorable experiences for our audiences and communities.

We are looking for a Fundraising and Development Coordinator to support the day-to-day delivery of our fundraising activity and help us provide an excellent experience for our donors, Patrons, sponsors and supporters.

Working closely with our Development & Sponsorship Manager and colleagues across Nottingham Playhouse, you will support a varied range of fundraising activities including individual giving, corporate sponsorship, trusts and foundations, donor stewardship and fundraising events.

What you’ll be doing

This is a varied role where no two days are likely to be quite the same. You will:

  • Provide effective administration and coordination across our fundraising and development activity.
  • Act as a first point of contact for supporter enquiries and help us provide an excellent experience for donors, Patrons and sponsors.
  • Process donations, support Gift Aid administration and maintain accurate financial and fundraising records.
  • Maintain donor and supporter information within our Spektrix CRM and help ensure our fundraising data remains accurate and up to date.
  • Produce reports and updates on donations, fundraising targets and donor feedback.
  • Support the administration and development of our Patron scheme.
  • Coordinate Seat Dedications and other individual giving activity.
  • Support research into trusts, foundations and potential fundraising opportunities.
  • Help coordinate fundraising and sponsor events, including invitations, guest lists, ticket allocations and event arrangements.
  • Support the creation of sponsorship proposals, website updates and occasional fundraising content for social media.
  • Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify opportunities for partnerships, fundraising and income generation.
  • Represent Nottingham Playhouse at appropriate events and external meetings, with training, mentoring and support provided as you develop your networking and relationship-building experience.

About you

You don’t need to come to us with extensive fundraising experience. We are particularly interested in finding someone with strong transferable skills and the enthusiasm to develop their career in fundraising and sponsorship.

You will be highly organised, dependable and comfortable managing competing priorities. You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.

You’ll also be confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems and comfortable maintaining accurate records and databases.

Experience within fundraising, membership, sponsorship, sales or the charity sector would be an advantage, as would experience using CRM systems such as Spektrix, coordinating events, analysing data or administering Gift Aid – but these are desirable rather than essential.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is friendly, proactive and professional, enjoys working collaboratively and is passionate about providing an excellent experience for supporters.

We recognise that candidates may not have every skill listed in our Person Specification. If you can demonstrate your potential and willingness to learn, we encourage you to apply. Training and support will be available to help you develop within the role.
