Varied productions in our 1,850-seat auditorium (dating from 1899), and in our 200-seat Patrick Studio ensure we play a key role in the region’s world-class cultural scene. ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our Payroll & Benefits Specialist will oversee and manage payroll processing for all employees and flexible workers at Birmingham Hippodrome, alongside coordinating the varied provision of benefits offered to our people. Our Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be the first point of contact for all compensation, payroll and benefits-related queries.

This is a permanent role, on a part-time basis of 22.5 hours per week, ideally spread over 5 days per week, and reports into our Head of People, Culture & Talent. The role is predominantly based onsite at Birmingham Hippodrome, with a minimum of 3 days working onsite per week. Pro rata salary is £19,800 – £21,134.40 per annum, depending on experience.

Working as part of the wider People, Culture & Talent team, the Payroll & Benefits Specialist will contribute to the delivery of our People Strategy, helping to ensure Birmingham Hippodrome continues to be a positive, inclusive and high-performing place to work for everyone.

ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for someone with strong UK in-house payroll knowledge, with experience of end-to-end processing, managing company pensions, organising benefit schemes, and using payroll systems such as Staffology. You’ll have a comprehensive understanding of payroll and tax, and superb numerical skills, including data analysis and Excel. You’ll also maintain excellent attention to detail while working at pace, have great people skills, and be able to answer queries with confidence and friendliness, in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would also have a payroll-related qualification or CPD.
