Job Description
This position is to join our team as an Assistant/Mentor supporting Youth Theatre sessions. We have opportunities available throughout the week and on a Saturday morning.

The Youth Theatre term runs for 10 weeks from week commencing 23 September to week commencing 02 December 2024 (excluding wc 28 October, which is half term).

Hourly rate: £11.44 per hour

Main Duties:

To support the Practitioner with their session and take initiative with the young people to ensure each young people can thrive.

To run warm-up games and support with individual and small group work.

To support rehearsals if the group is working towards a production.

To register the young people and ensure they are safely collected by a parent/guardian.

To be aware of any additional needs of the group and how to help support the young people.

To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably requested.

Job Requirements
Candidates must be over 18 years of age

Ability to work regular given sessions for the autumn term

Experience working with young people 5-19 years of age

Experience with young people with additional needs

Enthusiasm, imagination & drive with the ability to motivate and inspire young people

Some understanding of theatre technical skills & practice

Good communication and negotiation skills

Ability to use own initiative

Ability to work as part of a team

Ability to support the Practitioner and Young People

Must clear an enhanced DBS check
