More Details

Development Department

Each year the Development Department is responsible for raising c.25% of the Young Vic’s income to enable great work on our stages and, vitally, in our communities. With philanthropy and memberships equating to around half of our annual fundraised income in 25/26, this is a huge area of opportunity and growth and in 2026 a refreshed membership scheme, driven by excellent donor stewardship and benefit delivery, will be vital to securing targets. Led by a newly appointed Development Director, we are a fast-paced team of six, with ambitions to majorly increase income back to pre-pandemic levels.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for an introductory role to the world of arts fundraising, working within a dynamic fundraising team. This is an exceptional moment for the Young Vic under the new artistic direction of Nadia Fall OBE as she launches her second season of programming in spring 2026 and as we launch a new website and a refreshed fundraising strategy.

This position will play a key supporting role in the Development team as we deliver our significant fundraising ambitions and is central to ensuring our donors are stewarded effectively and we are now looking for someone who is interested in building a career in arts fundraising and finding out more about how a busy Development team in Theatre operates.

You will help generate essential income through organising and delivering engaging events that deepen relationships with our supporters while supporting the wider Development team, overseeing general administrative tasks and liaising directly with supporters. This role is central to the smooth operation of the Development team and in return you will gain practical and hands-on experience in different aspects of how we secure support for the world-class work we do on stage and in the community.

We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. We are particularly keen to hear from Black and Global Majority people, and candidates who self-identify as disabled. All candidates who self-identify as disabled who demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria will be invited for interview. The Young Vic is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
