Job Title: Engagement Producer
Line Manager: Creative Producer
Location: Vamos Theatre, The Swan, The Moors, Worcester, WR1 3ED Usual Working Hours: 32 hours a week. Days of work and start and finish times to be agreed with your Line Manager according to programme needs. Salary: based on £28,000 (FTE) pro rata to: £22,400 per annum + statutory pension contribution on pensionable earnings. Employment Status: permanent; to work 4 days a week at the Vamos Theatre Office, Worcester. Travel when necessary. Conditions of Employment: The Engagement Producer is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and two references.
Key Skills
· At least 2 years’ professional experience of producing theatre shows or arts programmes in community, creative health or education settings.
· Knowledge and passion for theatre, the arts and artists.
· An interest in working with marginalised groups, including but not limited to adults with learning disabilities, SEND children and young people, people living with dementia.
· An excellent understanding of working with creative teams and freelance artists.
· Experience of curating, programming and contracting community and/or education programmes.
· The ability to handle delicate situations with tact and sensitivity and to exercise discretion.
· Experience of contract writing for freelance artists, partners and bookers.
· Experience of writing risk assessments.
· Demonstrable experience of effectively evaluating and monitoring work and having the adaptability to building and change programmes based on evidence.
· Managing production budgets, monitoring expenditure and developing work within strict financial parameters.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· The ability to build strong relationships with partners, schools, stakeholders, freelancers and participants.
· Willingness to work collaboratively as a conscientious and valuable team member.
· A personable and calm manner while working under pressure and to tight deadlines, with the ability to remain flexible and proactively troubleshoot when required.
· Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of Office 365, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
Key Responsibilities and Job Specification
Creative Learning
· Project managing, booking and contracting all Creative Learning and Arts in Health bookings and practitioners, supported by the CP, AD and Health Connector.
· Looking for new opportunities and building relationships with venues, prospective schools, community organisations and care home partners that could book and develop our Creative Learning offer.
· Working with the Creative Producer to develop and roll out our SEND offer.
· Assistant producing and co-delivering the Elevate programme working with partner venues, marketing departments and regional communities to engage emerging artists from diverse backgrounds.
· Managing bookings, delivery and maintenance of the Vamos Theatre Mask Library (c. 6 bookings yearly).
· Compiling and monitoring all Creative Learning evaluation and taking special care of after-event relationship building.
· Inputting and maintaining relevant data on our office system, Protouree, with excellent attention to detail.
· Booking and managing BSL interpreters for or deaf artists and working with Access to Work funding.
Vamos Central
· With the Creative Producer and Vamos Central’s Lead Facilitator, planning and delivering Vamos Central’s administration.
· Being the first point of contact for all Vamos Central members, families, support staff and volunteers.
· Attending all 33 VC sessions, sharings and performances, hands on supporting the room, members and staff, plus any additional rehearsals and production week(s).
· Being the point of contact between the office team and Vamos Central.
· Representing Vamos Theatre in the wider Worcestershire community to build relationships and performance opportunities for Vamos Central and our wider Creative Learning work.
· Working with the Creative Producer and Executive Producer on funding bids and evaluations of Vamos Central.
· Providing quarterly reports and attendance figures for Board Reports, with support from the CP.
General
· Collating all masks, props and costumes for Creative Learning, Arts in Health performances and any main touring shows, and arranging a courier when needed in a timely fashion, supported by the EP, AD and CP.
· Supporting the rehearsal room when needed.
Governance
· Assisting the EP with the preparation of some papers for Board meetings, collating Board Reports and agendas, and sending out papers and policies ahead of Board meetings.
Finance
· Leading on all invoicing across the company, with support from the Executive Producer.
· Updating and reporting on income for Creative Learning and Arts in Health (with the support of the EP, CP and AD)
Company Admin
· Ensure that all relevant staff and practitioners have up to date DBS checks and First Aid as needed.
· Answer all enquiries through the learning@ email addresses and disseminate to the relevant team members.
· Follow policies and procedures in the delivery of all work.
· Represent the company at some conferences and industry networking events.
· Attend fortnightly team meetings.
· Attend training provided by the company.
· Have regular check-ins with Creative Producer and annual appraisals.
· Other duties as required.
