Follow Spot Operator – Into The Woods

Fixed term: Wednesday 19 November 2025 – Saturday 18 April 2026. 32 hours average working week over 6 days (Mon – Sat). £612 per week (overtime will be paid at £5.02 for every additional 15 minutes worked over the contracted hours).

The Bridge Theatre Lighting Department is currently looking for two enthusiastic and talented Follow Spot Operators to join our team for the run on our upcoming production of Into the Woods.

We would welcome CVs from those who have had experience operating remote follow spots such as Macula RoboSpots etc on professional live performances of a mid – large scale. As a Follow Spot Operator at The Bridge you will take responsibility for carrying out a pre-house opening spot check and then to operate a remote follow spot during the show for each performance.

You will be a key member of the production team for the run of the production, working closely with the LX & Video Operator and Lighting Team to ensure the high standards of the show are maintained throughout the run.

Ideal start date would be Monday 19 November 2025.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include all tasks customarily performed by a Follow Spot Operator in respect of a theatrical production of an appropriate standard and scale including (but not limited to):

  • Create and update followspot cue lists and other relevant paperwork.
  • Checking the follow spot is operating correctly before house opening.
  • Operate remote follow spot for tech, dress runs, understudy tech & runs and for each performance.
  • Teach the Technical Swing and other covers to operate the show.
  • Assist with other duties required by the lighting department.

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Experience using a remote follow spot system such as RoboSpot..
  • Approachable and friendly, with an understanding and enthusiasm for the production process.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • An eye for detail, able to spot issues during live performances and react accordingly.

Desirable

  • Experience using a Macula Follow Spot System.
  • Experience of working in a Producing House theatre and/or large scale musicals..
