Food and Beverage Manager

The Café Bar is a vital part of the visitor experience, serving theatre audiences and a growing daytime clientele. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service alongside strong commercial performance.

You will oversee the day-to-day running of the Café Bar, including service delivery, stock control, compliance, and financial performance. You will lead and develop a team of managers and staff, creating a positive, high-performing environment while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and customer care.

Working closely with the Theatre Manager and Front of House team, you will support the delivery of performances, press nights, and events, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all visitors.

This is a hands-on role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong leadership, and the ability to balance operational delivery with commercial awareness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily Café Bar operations and ensuring excellent service standards
• Leading, training, and developing a hospitality team
• Driving revenue, controlling costs, and monitoring financial performance
• Managing stock, suppliers, and ordering processes
• Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing
• Supporting hospitality delivery for events, hires, and performances

About you:

You will have experience managing or supervising a hospitality or catering operation, with a strong track record of delivering excellent customer service and leading teams effectively. You will be commercially aware, highly organised, and confident working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Experience in a theatre, arts venue, or similar setting is desirable but not essential.

You must be flexible and able to work evenings and weekends in line with the theatre’s performance schedule.
