Lighting Designer – Cinderella

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Lighting Designer, based in the South West of the UK, for the biggest show of the Northcott calendar: our pantomime Cinderella.

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Lighting Designer, based in the South West of the UK, for the biggest show of the Northcott calendar: our pantomime Cinderella.

The project is a co-production between the Northcott and Le Navet Bete, building on the successful partnership of the last two years. The production will be bold, accessible, fun and a perfect mix of tradition and freshness. Music in the show will be well known rock and pop songs.

The play will be directed by Northcott Creative Director Martin Berry, and will include a cast of 9 professional performers and design by Mark Walters.

Key Dates

The lighting design will be worked on and built between June and September 2024, in close collaboration with the director and in-house team.

Rehearsals will take place Mon 4^th November – Wed 27^th November 2024, during which time the lighting designer will be available to attend rehearsals as required.

The fit up and technical period will run Mon 18^th – Wed 27^th November 2024 and the Lighting Designer will be expected to be present for all of that time, and will be expected to programme the desk.

Performances will run Thu 28^th November 2024 – Sun 5^th January 2025, and the lighting designer is not expected to be in attendance during this run.

Key skills

We are seeking a dynamic Lighting Designer to design and programme a high-quality design for the production. As such, significant experience in working with appropriate software and equipment is essential. A collaborative and creative approach will also be important.

Fee

We are offering a fee of £3,000 plus all expenses for this role.
