Research & Communications Coordinator

Summary

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and equally confident writing compelling content as you are juggling complex schedules? We’re looking for a Research & Communications Coordinator to play a pivotal role at the heart of our organisation, providing direct support to our CEO & Creative Director.

More Details

This is a dynamic role split between three key areas:

  • Communications – turning information into clear, engaging updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research – gathering information and data which underpins and informs our organisational goals
  • Administration & Organisation – ensuring the CEO’s time is used effectively, meetings run smoothly, and data is tracked accurately.

You’ll be the right-hand support for the CEO & Creative Director, helping to ensure priorities are delivered effectively across the organisation.

About Us

We are a values-driven not-for-profit organisation with four brands — Cornwall Playhouse, Get Creative, Husa, and Cornwall Playhouse Productions. Backed by £30m of investment in our recent capital renovation project, we have boosted Cornwall’s creative economy, supported 11,000 young people, and employed over 400 artists. Passion, Empathy, Grit, and Gusto are at the heart of everything we do.

What you’ll do

  • Create engaging internal communications, including short videos, reels, infographics, and staff updates.
  • Draft, proof, and edit written materials – from correspondence and stakeholder updates to internal reports.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, tracking key dates, drafting VIP communications, and administering seasonal greetings.
  • Carry out research, collate findings, and prepare impactful briefing documents.
  • Manage the CEO’s diary, meetings, and travel – ensuring everything runs seamlessly.
  • Take accurate meeting notes, monitor follow-up actions, and keep projects on track.
  • Use in-house systems (SharePoint, Spektrix, Artifax) to update and manage information.

What we’re looking for

  • A confident communicator with excellent written skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance multiple priorities with discretion and tact.
  • Tech-savvy and confident using (or quick to learn) systems such as SharePoint, SpektrixArtifax and emerging social media/communications tools.
  • A creative thinker who can translate complex information into accessible updates for a wide range of audiences.
  • A team player who builds good working relationships and understands the bigger picture.

Why join us?

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the CEO & Creative Director and play a key role in shaping how our organisation communicates, delivers its mission, and connects with stakeholders. You’ll gain insight into strategic leadership, while contributing creatively to internal messaging and research that helps drive our work forward.
