Summary

Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking School Ambassadors to join our Education team on a casual basis.

More Details

We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our organisation. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and the Global Majority are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single specification. If you’re excited about the role but your experience or qualifications don’t perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as the global majority, LGBTQA+, those with a disability and neurodiverse conditions.

The role:

Shakespeare’s Globe is seeking proactive and audience-focused Schools Ambassadors to support our 2026 production of Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank: Romeo & Juliet. This annual project brings over 28,000 students aged 11-16 from London and Birmingham state schools to the Globe for productions created especially for young people.

As a Schools Ambassador, you will play a key part in ensuring that students, teachers, and group leaders have a safe, smooth and inspiring visit – often their very first experience of live theatre. You will also support mixed public/student audiences on selected performance dates.

The skills:

  • Warm, professional, and committed to delivering outstanding visitor care for students, teachers and other visitors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a front-facing team, and across departments.
  • Able to communicate with Globe staff effectively, in an assured and constructive manner.
  • Punctual, reliable, and capable of showing initiative and adaptability.
  • Able to confidently communicate Globe policy and standards to groups and individuals.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn with persuasive selling skills.
  • Calm under pressure and proactive in finding solutions.
  • Able to address complaints and provide detailed feedback.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and flexible availability to work daytime, evening, weekend, and outdoor shifts.

Benefits:

  • Discount in the Globe shop and onsite restaurants/cafes
  • Staff discounts via My Globe perks and better Bankside Buzzcard
  • Free entry to selected shows, events and activities
  • Access to our free employee assistance programme and 24/7 virtual GP service
