More Details

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Sound Designer, based in the South West of the UK, for the biggest show of the Northcott calendar: our pantomime Cinderella.

The project is a co-production between the Northcott and Le Navet Bete, building on the successful partnership of the last two years.  The production will be bold, accessible, fun and a perfect mix of tradition and freshness.  Music in the show will be well known rock and pop songs.

The play will be directed by Northcott Creative Director Martin Berry, and will include a cast of 9 professional performers and design by Mark Walters.

Key Dates

The digital tracks and all stems, plus sound effects, created by the sound designer will be worked on and built between June and September 2024.

Rehearsals will take place Mon 4th November – Wed 27th November 2024, during which time the sound designer will be available to adjust tracks as required.  This can be done remotely or in person.

The fit up and technical period will run Mon 18th – Wed 27th November 2024, and the sound designer will be expected to be present for some of that time, though at this stage the sound engineer, not the designer, will be responsible for the effective installation and balance of tracks.

Performances will run Thu 28th November 2024 – Sun 5th January 2025, and the sound designer is not expected to be in attendance during this run.

Key skills

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced sound designer to create high quality backing tracks and sound effects for the production.  As such, significant experience in working with appropriate software is essential.  A collaborative and creative approach will also be important.

The sound designer will not be required to engineer the show or to teach songs to the cast.

Fee

We are offering a fee of £2,500 plus all expenses for this role.
