We are seeking a Stage & Automation Technician to join us here at Curve. As part of the Stage and Automation team, the post holder will play a key part in providing skilled support for all Made at Curve and Visiting Productions across Curve’s 3 spaces.

As a Stage & Automation Technician, you will play a key role in the staging of productions, responsible for rigging, set construction, and operating Curve’s automated flying system (full training provided). You will work closely with visiting productions, creative teams, and technical professionals, ensuring industry-leading standards in safety, precision, and theatrical presentation.

You will oversee technical operations across all Curve Theatre spaces, ensuring seamless fit-ups, get-outs, and performances. A key part of your role will be the operation and maintenance of Curve’s powered flying system, supporting productions with expert technical execution. You will collaborate with production teams, creatives, and touring companies, providing technical support and mentorship to casual staff. Maintaining theatre spaces and equipment to the highest standards will be essential, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Additionally, you will participate in Show calls, technical rehearsals, and production periods, adapting to the dynamic demands of live theatre and supporting teams to achieve their creative vision through technical expertise.

The ideal candidate will have experience in stage operations, automation, or rigging and possess excellent collaboration and communication skills, working confidently alongside industry professionals. A meticulous, detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, combined with a passion for delivering high-quality productions.

This is a full-time, permanent role, on an average annualised-hours contract of 42 hours per week. Regular evening and weekend work will be required.
