Overview of Role: Step into the Pride Lands

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join the Wardrobe department for Disney’s Hercules in London’s West End on a fixed-term basis.

As a Dresser, you’ll report to the Head and Deputy Head of Wardrobe. You’ll support the day-to-day running of a large-scale musical by preparing and maintaining costumes, assisting with quick changes, and ensuring the show runs smoothly to the highest standard.

Responsibilities and Duties: Backstage Brilliance

  • Work alongside your team, other technical departments, stage management, the acting company, and resident creative team members to ensure the efficient flow of information.
  • Support the Head and Deputy Head of Wardrobe with any day-to-day changes that might impact the running of the Production.
  • Attend rehearsals, show calls, laundry calls, fittings, and maintenance sessions as required.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of all costumes, footwear, and accessories required by the department.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of costume construction and undertake small-scale sewing, repairs, or painting tasks as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Acquire familiarity with all wardrobe plots/tracks within your department to provide support during rehearsals when needed.
  • Learn and maintain the dressing tracks specifically assigned to you.
  • Support the acting company with costume-related needs during rehearsals and performances, including quick changes and adjustments.
  • Assist the Head of Wardrobe in compiling, updating, and maintaining cue sheets, wardrobe notes, and other relevant show paperwork.
  • Help to maintain stock levels of consumable items and report requirements to the Head or Deputy Wardrobe.
  • Work flexible maintenance shifts; the weekly call will vary depending on the needs of the production.
  • Embrace the scale and spectacle of production by undertaking any other duties as may reasonably be required, as instructed by the Head or Deputy Wardrobe.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Background: Experience in a similar role within a large-scale musical production, working alongside an international cast, is highly desirable.
  • Costume Maintenance: Knowledge of laundering and maintaining stage costumes.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships across departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent initiative and practical problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure backstage situations.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Able to handle issues that arise during performances with focus, professionalism, and composure.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: A full awareness of the need for integrity and confidentiality.
  • Health & Safety: Knowledge and understanding of health & safety legislation.

Additional Information

  • Contract Type: Fixed-Term
  • Start Date: Thursday 16th December 2025
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Saturday (evening and weekend show schedule)
  • Health & Safety: This role will require the candidate to understand and follow the Health and Safety Rules & Regulations at the production.
