Rachel Bagshaw, Artistic Director and Co-CEO of the Unicorn Theatre, one of the UK’s leading children’s theatres, has joined the Board of UK Theatre.
Rachel assumed the role of Artistic Director in 2023, having previously served as the Unicorn’s Associate Director from 2018 – 2023. In addition to her stage work for the Unicorn, Rachel has collaborated with a wide range of theatres including Shakespeare’s Globe, the Royal Exchange, Graeae, and the Royal Court. Her critically acclaimed work, The Shape of Pain, won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and was revived at Battersea Arts Centre in 2018.
She was previously an Associate at the National Theatre as a Peter Hall Bursary recipient, and a trustee of Battersea Arts Centre and Camden People’s Theatre.
Rachel has extensive experience in engagement and theatre for young people and is a passionate advocate for improving access for disabled audiences, workers and artists across the theatre sector.
