Disney’s The Lion King – Swing Stage Technician

Summary

Disney Theatrical Group are looking for a Swing Stage Technician to work on the London production of The Lion King in its 25th Anniversary year. This upcoming role is an opportunity for a keen and motivated individual to work in the Stage Department on Disney’s The Lion King on a fixed-term basis. Working with the Head of Stage and other members of the Stage Department to ensure the smooth running of the show.

Responsibilities and Duties
·       Assist Head Of Department to ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals and performances

·       Assist on any day-to-day changes that might impact the running of the Production

·       Assist Head Of Department to teach new members of staff and deps.

  • Attend rehearsal, technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required
  • Maintain and repair repairing aspects of the production as instructed and dictated by the artistic requirements and under the direction of department Head, Production Manager and Resident Creative Team.
  • Handle any problems that occur during performances quickly and calmly.
  • Report and feedback show and staff related issues in a timely manner

·       Work in accordance with the Health And Safety Policy and maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation and good working practices.

·       Liaise closely with Disney’s Health and Safety Manager to ensure that the Health And Safety Policy is followed

·       Work closely and in conjunction with the Company Manager.

Skills Required
·       Clear, confident communication and decision making essential

·       Ability to remain focused and calm when under pressure

·       Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills with cast, creative and production team essential

·       Excellent problem-solving skills and use of own initiative

·       A full awareness of need for integrity and confidentiality

·       Ability to work at height

·       Knowledge of maintaining stage Props and scenic painting

·       Confidant with power tools and basic carpentry

·       Experience in a similar role within a large-scale musical production working with an international cast is highly desirable

Additional Information
·       Fixed Term Contract – Spring 2025 start, opening summer 2025.

·       48 hours per week.

·       Weekend and evening work integral (Tuesday to Sunday show schedule).

·       This role will require the candidate to understand and follow the Health and safety rules & regulations at the production.
