An exciting operational role that will deliver nominated events in Ally Pally’s Victorian Theatre and East Court space. The role is also the main point of contact for the BBC Concert Orchestra supporting with rehearsal schedules and public performances.

The Theatre Duty Manager will deliver nominated events in the Victorian Theatre and East Court space. This includes: theatre shows, live comedy, live sport and live music. The role is the main point of contact for the BBC Concert Orchestra; Ally Pally’s Associate Orchestra, and will support with their rehearsal schedule and public performances.

Internally, the post holder will liaise with the Creative Learning team as the lead contact for the volunteer program, supporting with scheduling volunteer shifts and managing volunteer communications for Theatre events.

Previous experience as a Duty Manager gained in either a Theatre, events business or licensed premises is essential alongside experience managing / supervising front of house areas.

Key duties

  1. Act as the main point of contact for BBC Concert Orchestra
  2. Plan and deliver nominated Theatre events in line with standard operating procedures
  3. Act as Duty Manager on  nominated shows upholding excellent client and customer service
  4. Liaise with Creative Learning as the Theatre lead for the volunteer program
  5. Support the Theatre General Manager and Deputy Manager with ad hoc development projects

Essential

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Previous Duty Management experience
  • Experience managing / overseeing front of house areas
  • Experience of supervising & briefing volunteers, contractors and suppliers
  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service
  • Calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety processes and procedures
