The successful candidate will dress and set the wigs/hairpieces and assist the cast with the fitting of their wigs/hairpieces for each performance as well as manage the preparation and good maintenance of wigs, hairpieces and equipment, including checks prior to each performance; maintain wigs and hairpieces between performances, ensuring the good storage of the wigs/hairpieces between performances and order and replenish the hair and make-up supplies as needed. They will also provide the cast and band with advice or assistance with their make-up as requested.
The Head of Wigs will also manage the schedule of the department, ensuring an adequate level of show cover at all times including training up deps sufficiently so they are able to cover your plot; manage petty cash for the department and liaise with the Hair and Make Up Supervisor as needed in regard to any replacements, alterations or repairs needed for the wigs and/or hairpieces.
Candidates must be prepared to undertake physically demanding tasks, have great attention to detail with a can-do attitude and the ability to remain calm in fast paced situations. SIX uses a mix of full wigs, hair pieces and the performer’s natural hair so confidence working with all types of hair is essential. They will have previous experience within the wig department of a theatrical production.
Desirable experience includes: previous experience on a touring production

Salary: £1074 per week plus touring allowance
