We are looking for a Scenic Carpenter/CNC Programmer to join the National Theatre Workshops Team.

The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Construction Supervisor(s), Project Draughtsperson and CNC Operator to write programmes to enable the CNC machine to operate. Also, to manufacture, modify and repair scenery to realise the creative team’s vision using a wide range of materials and tools. Work is normally carried out in the carpentry workshop, in other workshops and on the National Theatre stages but may be required elsewhere in the National or at designated outside venues
The successful candidate will have the following:
Strong level of competency in AutoCAD, CNC machine software and general IT skills.
A thorough understanding of scenery construction – its methods, techniques and a good technical ability of appropriate woodworking and joinery skills.
Good awareness and experience of working with the Theatre Green Book.
Good understanding of Health and Safety.
Significant experience of scenic construction, working in a busy workshop environment.
