Technician – New Wimbledon Theatre

New Wimbledon Theatre is the closest regional theatre to London with a large seating capacity (1,600), good technical facilities, excellent transport links, a 66-seat Studio and a strong customer offer.

The Technician role will assist the Heads of Department and Technical Manager with the day to day running of the theatre from a technical perspective. You will assist with the get ins, fit ups and get outs of new productions and visiting events, as well as assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the theatre. You will work in an all-round capacity across all areas of the department. There will also often be occasions when you will be requested to support the Facilities Manager.

As a member of the Department, you will assist the Technical Manager in the implementation, monitoring, and cultural approach to workplace safety and compliance across the technical operations of the venue, and ensuring visiting productions, contractors and visitors are aware of and in compliance with ATG policies and procedures. You will support the Chief LX, Stage Manager and Facilities Manager on the maintenance of the venue’s electrical/ mechanical systems.

This is an exciting role in one of ATG’s flagship theatres and will contribute to New Wimbledon Theatre’s long-term growth strategy.
