The Mercury Theatre Colchester enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of the work it produces and presents in its two auditoria and through its many community and education partnerships. We aim to cement the theatre’s position as one of the main centres of artistic excellence in the East of England by building an audience for a critically acclaimed programme of drama, dance, music theatre and family theatre at the Mercury and on tour.
We are looking for an experienced Technician to deliver high quality technical support for all Mercury and visiting productions within our theatre and studio.
As a technician, you will play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of both Mercury Productions and visiting companies. This includes taking part in fit ups, get outs, re-rigs, and performance crew work across our main stage, studio, and touring venues.
You will also act as a Duty Technician when required, ensuring smooth communication and safety during performances. The role also involves equipment maintenance, safety checks, PAT testing, and supporting the upkeep of technical areas.
If you have all the experience needed as well as a proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safe and efficient working; then we would love to hear from you.
