The Wardrobe Technicians at the National Theatre provide effective support for the Running Wardrobe Department and assist in maintaining the standard of the Costume Designer’s specification throughout the run of a production.
The Wardrobe Technician is a primarily a performance-based role – where they cover the show in a Wardrobe Capacity in the absence of the show specific Supervisor or Deputy but when a Senior Wardrobe Member is in the building.
The successful candidate will have the following:

Experience of dressing for a busy professional theatre production.

Experience of costume maintenance and laundry skills.

Good sewing skills (both hand and machine) and able to make emergency repairs and to alter costumes.

Experience of working under minimum supervision.

Good communication skills (oral and written).
