On 13 December 2024, the EU introduced a new General Product Safety Regulation (GSPR) which affects members who sell products and goods to the EU and Northern Ireland. This includes if you have an online shop which sells merchandise to the EU, or if you are touring a production and taking merchandise or programmes with you. Some members have temporarily paused selling into the EU & Northern Ireland while they navigate the new rules.
The legislation has been introduced to increase product safety and transparency, and include new rules around supply chain transparency, enhanced product safety documentation, as well as having a responsible person based in the EU to ensure compliance.
